Saying Goodbye

            We were only a couple of weeks away from our expected departure date and there were just a few last minute things to attend to.  Number one on my list was having one last sleepover with my best friend Anna.

            I spent the night at Anna's house near the beginning of August, and we had an amazing time.  Anna and I have been friends since we were seven years old, and though we've changed a lot over the years, we're still very close.  Spending time with Anna was so fun.  We went to the pool, to a dance and just talked with each other.  It was a fantastic sleepover that I will remember forever.

            I also started tenth grade!  I was excited to start back, because even though I'd had an awesome summer, I missed learning and reading about things like science and literature. I go to the Greenholts in Yadkinville for my English classes, and once I start traveling I will do the English classes via Zoom.  However I should be able to go to all the August classes in person.  On the first day, it was great to meet all the new kids and see people from last year's classes. Unfortunately my friend Lizzie wasn't able to make it to the first day of school, but I look forward to seeing her on the other school days in August. 

            Mia and I also had to say goodbye to Finn, Mia's cat.  We've only had him for a year, but that has been long enough to develop a connection with him.  He is an adorable cat, and though he sometimes has an attitude, we love him very much.

            My mom and I went shopping for new shorts for me, but naturally we ended up with a lot more.  I was really happy with my new clothes, and I know I'll wear them a lot while I'm traveling.

                My nana took Mia and I out one day to get our nails done and go to lunch.  We had a delicious lunch, and then we went to the library (yes, I am one of those nerds who reads lots of books for fun), which I was very happy about because I hadn't been to the library in a while.  Then we went to the nail salon, where Mia and I got our nails painted and my nana got a pedicure.  She always gets her nails painted in red, pink, or orange, so this time she let me pick the color.  I chose a pretty shade of blue-green that looked great.  I got my nails painted a gorgeous color called Caribbean and Mia chose a peach color.  We had a great day out and I'm happy we were able to spend time together before we officially head out.

            My mom is a globetrotter, so when she won a free trip to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, she was excited.  But the trip kept getting delayed since we were busy for months with selling the house, purchasing the RV and truck, and getting the RV travel-ready.  But finally my parents were able to go on the trip together this week.  They flew out Monday morning and returned home Thursday night.  They had a good time together, and me and Mia enjoyed the time spent with our grandparents; but we were all happy to be reunited Thursday night.

    Thanks so much! At first I picked up a bright yellow and she was like, "You wouldn't do that to me, would you," so we chose that color and she thought it looked good! Yes, Mia and I love trying on heels for fun.

Starting our Journey to the Northeast

           We left Florida on March 12 and drove up to South Carolina for three nights.  I wanted to visit Charleston while we were in South Carolina, and I really liked it.  It is such a pretty, clean, and historic city with beautiful architecture.   # CharlestonPhotoShoot Rainbow Row           We then returned home to North Carolina, where we would be staying until April 3.  We had a couple of doctor's appointments to take care of, and we also visited friends and family.  It was good to see everybody again.   We went to Old Salem one day and the weather was so nice. A Month Away From Following My Dream

                 Easter 2021, I was at my nana's house for the holidays. My nana had just bought a new RV and my sister Mia and I were having a BLAST playing in it while the adults talked inside. At one point, I ran inside the house for something and my mom asked me what I thought of the camper. "I love it! I wish I could live in one!" was my reply.
